Google has announced that it will now require senders who send more than 5,000 messages per day to its email users to include an “opt-out” option.
Additionally, it will require certain senders to verify their email address to prove that they own their domain name and that they are not spoofing “IP” addresses. Google may even not deliver any messages whose senders are frequently flagged as “spam” by users.
These actions are expected as large technology companies and “spammers” use emails for “phishing” or sending “malware”.
Google says it leverages AI technology to stop over 99.9% of “spam” and blocks 15 billion “spam” emails a day!
“These changes are necessary so we can keep email running smoothly”,
wrote Google product manager Neil Kumaran in a blog post.
Not long ago, Google also announced that artificial intelligence will now be able to make it easier for users to compose emails through the “Gmail” application. The company will integrate so-called “creative artificial intelligence” into “Gmail” to help quickly expand emails, called “Help Me Write”.
“Just type the prompt of what you want, hit ‘Generate’ and a full draft will appear”,
Google CEO Sundar Pichai said.
Google has more than 3 billion users of “Workspace”, from ordinary consumers of the free version to companies that pay subscriptions for the applications.
