At the beginning of the 20th century, the Birmingham-based “Peaky Blinders” gang was active in Britain, which became famous thanks to the worldwide success of the TV series of the same name.
London police say they have dismantled a hacker mob called “Lapsu$”.
Seven key members of the mob have been arrested; and the most interesting thing is that they are teenagers and the leader is a 16-year-old, who even suffers from autism!
According to the British police, the 16-year-old, who called himself “White” and “Breachbase”, had managed to earn about 13 million euros from the illegal activities of the mob in cyberspace. The details of the young leader of the mob have not been made known, nor whether he is among those arrested.
Understandably, from the ages of the participants in it, the mob was created relatively recently; but in this short period of time, it had made significant hits, even at very well-known targets, such as Microsoft, and, for this reason, it had quickly gained a reputation. Although its members lived in London, the mob had made it appear to be based in South America.
However, the young of the age of the mob was her Achilles heel. The enthusiasm of the young hackers, for their successes, made them conceit in the hacker community; as a result of which, their competitors sent information about them to the police; while, at the same time, their inexperience led them to not cover their tracks well, so the British police cybercrime service located them relatively easily.
The mob leader lives in Oxford, and his father told police that the young man was attending a special school for people with autism and that he was addicted to computers, which they tried to curb; but did not imagine he was involved in illegal activity on the internet.
The available data show, that the mob had started its action at least a year ago, which means, that its leader and many of its members were then 14-15 years old.
