Notifications on Facebook are not always useful or informative, as shown by a study of what the social network highlights every day.
There are no more moments when Facebook displays a large number of notifications on our profile, from which many times none of them have any social value for a person’s actual encounters.
Thus, according to Mashable, notifications often show a notice of a distant memory that may be of no concern to anyone, or an update on what a person -with whom there has been no communication- will do, even though they are on our contact list.
The same goes for uploading photos from practically unknown people, while Facebook users are considered to be annoying enough to view live videos.
There are not a few who find birthday notifications unnecessary, as well as some social events such as poke or someone to greet you, at a time when he could just start a conversation with you through Facebook Messenger.
Many procedural notifications, such as what happens when you remove a person from your friends list, or the fact that Facebook even informs the user that it is its birthday today, are considered unnecessary and certainly annoying.
The same category includes updates about how many likes someone might have earned, as well as how many days have passed since a profile was last updated.
