The more features and more services our mobile phones provide, the more we use it and accordingly the amount of energy required for the operation of the device increases, which of course leads to the rapid consumption of its “fuel” and the need for continuous battery charging.
The Swiss company “pCloud” conducted a study in which it investigated the energy requirements of 100 popular applications. The research revealed the 20 most greedy mobile phone apps. In the first place is the application of instructions and tips for physical exercise and healthy lifestyle “Fitbit”. In second place is the “Verizon”, with the bouquet of services provided to owners of mobile phones. “Uber” and “Skype” follow and the fifth place is shared by“Facebook”, “Airbnb” and the streaming platform “BIGO LIVE”.
In the top ten are “Instagram”, “Snapchat”, “WhatsApp” and “Amazon”, along with the dating app “Tinder”, “Bumble” and “Grindr”.
“93% of smartphone users state that they use applications every day, with the result that the batteries of the devices suffer and are quickly discharged during the day. We decided to find out which applications are the invisible killers of mobile phones.”
“pCloud” states in an announcement.
