We probably do not offer you something NEW, when we say that Facebook is watching you. You know that and we know it and (fortunately or unfortunately) we have accepted this “game”.

What you may not know is that the analytical data it collects and obviously keeps, reminding you of a little “electronic profiling”, is -fortunately- accessible to you as well.

And how could it be otherwise? Do not say that, our eyes have seen so many things in the marvelous new world we live in.

Below is a guide on how you can find it and what you will read in this notorious folder.

• First (a), go to the Facebook home page and select “Settings”.
• Then (b), click “Download a copy of your data from Facebook” (Download archive).
• And (c), go to your email to check that you have received an email with your folder.

What does the folder contain?

More or less everything. But let’s be more specific:

Chat – Everything you ever write, chatting with your friends.

Check-ins – All the places you have imprinted your presence.

Credit Cards – Though if you use them via applications, here you see your purchases.

Face Recognition Data – In more sci-fi situations, with this data, Facebook helps your friends to tag on your photos.

IP Addresses – All devices from which you have logged in.

Phone Number – This is only. And nothing else.

Political Beliefs – If under “About” you have written something in “Political Views”, you will find it here as well.

Search – Whatever you have searched for in the social network.
