PayPal announced its collaboration with Skype, allowing users in Greece and 21 other countries to send money to other Skype users with PayPal via Skype for mobile.
Users will be able to use PayPal directly from the Skype app to send money seamlessly – for example for a gift to a family member in their home country or abroad.
P2P payments are one of the biggest driving forces for consumer engagement for PayPal. More than $ 7 million a day are sent to friends and relatives worldwide via PayPal P2P, Venmo and Xoom. By working with Skype, P2P payments with PayPal are available in more places and in different conditions – where people connect online and mobile – such as through a voice command with Siri, chat with Slack, and email via Microsoft Outlook.com.
The ability to send money through PayPal to Skype immediately starts its operation for PayPal and Skype users in the United States, the United Kingdom, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France , Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain.
The app will initially be available to Skype customers using the latest version of Skype for iOS and Android.
