“Cortana” gradually moves from computers and smartphones to a variety of “Internet of Things” applications.
Microsoft’s digital assistant, “Cortana”, is getting closer to the “Internet of Things”, as “Johnson Controls”, a company that develops air conditioning and fire protection systems, shows in an implementation. The latest creation of this company is a smart digital thermostat with “Cortana” built in.
The name of the thermostat is “GLAS” and has the ability to locate the person in the room, while updating the conditions prevailing in the air. Its built-in touchscreen displays a number of useful indications, such as temperature, air quality, energy consumed, as well as indications from the agenda.
The owner of this thermostat can interact with it with voice commands, with the help of “Cortana”, which will be able to do whatever the user wants from a close or even remote location through the “Internet of Things”.
The smart thermostat runs a special version of “IoT Core” of Windows 10, designed specifically for smaller devices.
As a first phase, it is not known when and at what price this device will be marketed and on what markets it will be sold.
