How would you feel if you could simply and easily check all the functions of your home even when you’re away? Now with the touch of a button on your mobile or tablet or even intact with a voice command, home jobs can start automatically, while you do something else or you are out of the house. And all thanks to IoT technology (Internet of Things) that has penetrated well into households, making each home more user-friendly, convenient and safe.

According to a survey conducted by Gartner on behalf of Bosch, it is predicted that by the year 2022 an average family will have around 500 “smart” interconnected devices. Fire detectors, alarms, cameras, boilers, refrigerators and washing machines are just some of the devices that can be connected to the Internet. In addition, by 2020, it is expected that “smart” technologies will be used by almost 15% of all households.

The interconnected devices, because they have infinite possibilities, started from the moment they entered our lives to improve our daily lives. Let’s take for example some “smart” products already on the Bosch market, such as the Condens 7000 iw boiler, the CT100 thermostat, the B8512G alarm and the Home Connect camera. What’s more economical, leaving work and while on the way to the house, adjusting your desired temperature to your room while ensuring hot water? Or what is the safest, with the help of IP Cameras, to keep track of your home space remotely, especially when you have left the kids alone at home? What’s more convenient than being on the Super Market and having a cell phone look inside your refrigerator?

Bosch’s target -which sold 27 million interconnected devices only the year 2016- is no other than making these “smart” technologies user-friendly. This is why it is optimizing and extending existing solutions so that the user can control the ever-growing number of interconnected devices through an app only. In 2018, all the “smart”, interconnected products expected to be launched by Bosch in the Greek market will be compatible with Amazon’s Alexa Voice Control.
