The ability to hold 400 GB on a microSD card is not a simple matter, but SanDisk managed it and presented its first sample.
The previous SanDisk writing sample was a 200 GB memory card, which was released two years ago, and now comes a new model, with a capacity of 400 GB. Western Digital SanDisk is looking to deliver great potential to mobile users with its new card. In order to have an order of magnitude, it is enough to think that 400GB can contain 400,000 digital books, 200,000 photos, 100,000 songs, 88 movies in Full HD or 16 Blu-Ray.
This card helps record 4K quality video material from modern mobile devices and is a good investment for the arrival of 8K, which will have even greater data volume requirements. The 400 GB card has a data rate of 100 MB per second, which means that 1,200 photos can be transferred in just one minute.
The SanDisk Ultra of 400 GB initially has a US sales target of $249, which is expected to fall gradually. The company has not yet informed about when the new model will become available to consumers.
