Robot did teeth implantation on a patient by itself (vid)

For the first time a robot performed a dental practice without the help of a dentist.

Although dentists were present during the dental implant surgery, their role was purely subsidiary as they did not intervene at any stage of the procedure.

The operation, which lasted an hour, took place in Xian city of Shaanxi region of China.

According to the South China Morning Post, the robot was developed by Beijing Beihang University and the 4th Military Medical University Dental Hospital.

The robot was constructed because there is a shortage of qualified dentists inside China and the consequent frequent medical errors.
