Car windows could be the next ubiquitous source of information, but also a way to advertise on the streets of cities in the not too distant future: an Israeli startup company aspires to do this with its technology, aiming at introducing the use of glass – liquid crystal displays in cars.
“This is the first time a car window is not just a car window but also a full screen that can be used for smart messaging“,
said Eyal Peso, CEO and co-founder of Gauzy.
What the company did was to incorporate liquid crystal glass sheets into car windows: When the engine runs and passes through the power, it is clear and transparent, but when the engine stops running, it turns into screens displaying high Analysis and images; and are also accompanied by a controller that connects to the Internet.
“For example, passers-by will be able to get information about nearby attractions, receive a lot of information. Of course it is location based: The car knows where it is, so the screen can display information relevant to the area where the vehicle is located”,
These windows, as Reuters notes, will only be installed on the rear and side windows, and as already mentioned, they will be activated when the engine is stopped!
Gauzy is working with the German automaker company “Daimler” on this technology, hoping to create a new dimension in car use.
