To view 4K videos, users will need to connect the updated Apple TV to a screen with higher resolution content viewing capabilities. A wide range of major manufacturers such as Sony and LG offer this feature.

To reproduce 4K and HDR content, Apple will have to close agreements with content creators who provide videos in this format. In addition to technology, Apple is also investing in talent after hiring Timothy Terald in Apple TV in January. In June, Jamie Erlitt and Jack Oan Ambrog, former presidents of Sony Pictures Television, were also recruited.
